I started The Morning Tea Book Review as an outlet for my love of books. I had just finished my masters in comparative literature and, for the first time since I was 18, I had the time and energy to read anything I wanted.

 

I read young adult fantasy and rom coms and historical romance, books I considered kind of silly, guilty pleasure reads. But as I recovered from my education burnout, I realized that these “silly” books had a lot to offer.

 

They had dynamic characters and interesting metaphors. They made comments on society and showed what a particular audience was looking for at a specific time. I realized that I could apply the skills I learned from school to the books that I read for fun.

 

So, here we are, writing reviews and analyses of the books no one is forcing me to read. I hope you stick around and maybe find your next read.
